PVDF Powder Coating

Overview

PVDF Powder Coating is one of the main products of KGE Group. With an annual output of 10,000 tons, KGE has ranked first in China for three consecutive years, accounting for approximately 35% of China’s market share. Combining PVDF resin, acrylic resin, and inorganic composite pigments, KGE PVDF Powder Coating provides more than 20 years of outstanding weather resistance for demanding architectural applications.

Fluorocarbon powder coating is made of more than 70% PVDF fluorine resin and matched with acrylic resin and inorganic ceramic pigment with high weather resistance and high adhesion, which are developed by our company and crushed by liquid nitrogen at -180℃ after deep-cooling, so that the performance of the product fully meets or exceeds the standard of AAMA2605.

Introduction

PVDF Powder Coating is a high-performance fluorocarbon coating formulated with polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) resin, acrylic resin, and inorganic composite pigments. It provides exceptional weather resistance as well as strong resistance to acids and alkalis, making it suitable for exterior applications where long-term protection and appearance retention are required.

Testing and practical applications have demonstrated that PVDF fluorocarbon coatings can provide more than 20 years of outstanding weather resistance. They are mainly used for architectural aluminum products, including aluminum profiles, aluminum doors and windows, and aluminum curtain walls.

Features

Outstanding Weather Resistance

PVDF powder coatings can provide more than 20 years of outstanding weather resistance, helping maintain the appearance and protective performance of coated surfaces during long-term outdoor exposure.

Excellent Acid & Alkali Resistance

The coating provides strong resistance to acids and alkalis, supporting durable surface protection in demanding environmental conditions.

Solvent-Free Formulation

As a solid powder coating, PVDF powder coating contains no solvent and does not generate organic solvent emissions during application, helping meet environmental requirements and reduce associated treatment costs.

Simplified Application

Unlike solvent-based fluorocarbon coatings, PVDF powder coating requires no paint dilution and can be applied through a single-coat process, simplifying production operations and reducing labor requirements.

Flexible Spraying Process

PVDF powder coating can be applied using both horizontal and vertical spraying processes. Vertical spraying can help further reduce application costs for suitable architectural aluminum profiles.

Lower Processing Costs

Compared with solvent-based fluorocarbon coating processes, PVDF powder coating can reduce electricity consumption under suitable production conditions, while its simplified application process can further reduce overall processing costs.

Key Application

PVDF powder coatings are primarily used for architectural aluminum products where long-term outdoor weather resistance and appearance retention are required.

Aluminum Profiles

Used on architectural aluminum profiles requiring durable outdoor protection and long-term appearance retention.

Aluminum Doors & Windows

Suitable for aluminum doors and windows exposed to sunlight, rain, humidity, and other outdoor environmental conditions.

Aluminum Curtain Walls

Applied to aluminum curtain wall systems where long-term weather resistance, surface appearance, and durability are important.

Architectural Façades

Suitable for exterior aluminum façade components requiring high weatherability and resistance to environmental exposure.

Q&A

How long does PVDF powder coating last outdoors?

Testing and practical applications have demonstrated that PVDF powder coating can provide more than 20 years of outstanding weather resistance. Actual performance depends on the coating system and service environment.

PVDF powder coatings have certain limitations in producing metallic finishes and may not fully replace solvent-based metallic fluorocarbon coatings when specific metallic effects are required.

PVDF powder coating is solvent-free, requires no dilution, and can be applied through a single-coat process. It can also support both horizontal and vertical spraying, helping simplify production and reduce associated processing costs.
