Fluorocarbon powder coating is made of fluorine resin mixed with super weather resistant polyester with inorganic ceramic pigment through special process. It solves the adhesion problem on the surface of aluminum alloy and makes it have excellent weather resistance, corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties, and its performance fully meets or exceeds the AAMA2604 standard. Because fluorine modified polyester carbon powder coating is a thermosetting powder coating, compared with PVDF fluorocarbon powder coating, it can be wood grain transfer printing, thus making it has a wider application.

Introduction

Fluororesin-modified Polyester Powder Coating is a thermosetting powder coating based on polyester resin modified with fluororesin. The modification is designed to enhance the weathering and surface performance of polyester powder coatings while maintaining their decorative and protective characteristics.

The resulting coating provides improved resistance to environmental exposure, together with good adhesion, mechanical durability, and surface appearance. It is suitable for applications where higher weatherability is required than conventional polyester powder coatings can provide.

Features

Enhanced Weatherability

Fluororesin modification improves the weathering performance of the polyester coating system, making it more suitable for applications exposed to outdoor environmental conditions.

Improved Surface Stability

The modified resin system provides better stability against environmental exposure, helping maintain coating appearance during service.

Good Mechanical Durability

The coating maintains the mechanical durability associated with polyester powder coatings, providing resistance to everyday impact, abrasion, and handling.

Strong Adhesion

The coating provides good adhesion to properly prepared metal substrates, helping maintain coating integrity during service.

Decorative Versatility

The polyester-based system can provide a range of colors, gloss levels, and surface finishes for applications requiring both appearance and protective performance.

Balanced Performance

Fluororesin modification provides a balance between enhanced weatherability and the processing and decorative characteristics of polyester powder coating.

Key Application

Fluororesin-modified Polyester Powder Coating is suitable for applications requiring enhanced weatherability while maintaining the versatility of a polyester powder coating system.

Architectural Aluminum

Suitable for aluminum profiles and other architectural aluminum components exposed to outdoor environments.

Doors & Windows

Used for aluminum doors, windows, and related components where surface appearance and resistance to environmental exposure are required.

Building Components

Suitable for exterior metal components and architectural elements requiring enhanced weatherability and durable surface protection.

Outdoor Metal Products

Can be used for selected outdoor metal products where improved weather resistance is required compared with conventional polyester powder coatings.

Q&A

What does fluororesin modification mean in polyester powder coating?

It refers to incorporating fluororesin technology into a polyester-based powder coating system to enhance selected properties, particularly its resistance to environmental exposure.

They are different coating systems based on different resin technologies. Fluororesin-modified polyester retains a polyester-based formulation while incorporating fluororesin modification, whereas PVDF powder coating is based on PVDF fluoropolymer resin. The appropriate system should be selected according to the required durability, application conditions, and project specifications.

Important information includes the substrate, indoor or outdoor exposure, expected environmental conditions, required appearance, application method, curing equipment, and performance requirements. This information helps determine the appropriate coating formulation.
