Acrylic Coating

Overview

Acrylic Coating is a single-component coating solution for steel and concrete surfaces. It combines excellent weather resistance with outstanding gloss and color retention, while offering easy application and maintenance for industrial and architectural coating systems.

Powder Coating

Introduction

Acrylic Coating is a single-component coating based on acrylic resin, developed for the protection and decoration of steel and concrete surfaces. It provides excellent gloss and color retention, together with good outdoor durability compared with conventional nitrocellulose, alkyd, and vinyl coating systems.

The coating can be used on chemical machinery, pipelines, equipment, and building surfaces, where resistance to water, salt water, acids, alkalis, and other chemical attack is required. It can also be applied over compatible KGE-833X series epoxy primers or zinc-rich primers as an easy-to-maintain topcoat system.

Features

Excellent Weather Resistance

Provides good resistance to outdoor weathering, with significantly better outdoor durability than conventional nitrocellulose, alkyd, and vinyl coating systems.

Outstanding Gloss & Color Retention

Provides excellent gloss and color retention, helping maintain the appearance of coated surfaces during outdoor service.

Water Resistance

After 168 hours of water exposure at 25°C, the coating showed no blistering, peeling, or obvious discoloration.

Salt Water Resistance

After 48 hours of exposure to a 3% sodium chloride solution at 25°C, the coating showed no blistering, peeling, or obvious discoloration.

Accelerated Weathering Resistance

After 500 hours of QUV accelerated weathering, the coating showed ≤ Grade 2 chalking and ≤ Grade 2 color change, with no blistering, flaking, or cracking.

Chemical Resistance

Provides resistance to acids, alkalis, and other chemical attack, supporting its use in industrial environments.

Single-Component Formulation

The ready-to-use single-component formulation requires no separate curing agent, simplifying coating preparation and application.

Flexible Application

The coating can be applied by airless spray, air spray, brush, or roller, providing flexibility for different application conditions.

Wide Application Temperature Range

Suitable for application at substrate and ambient temperatures from 0°C to 40°C, with relative humidity up to 85%.

Easy Maintenance

Can be used over compatible epoxy or zinc-rich primers as a practical maintenance topcoat system. The normal dry film thickness is 60–70 μm.

Key Application

Acrylic Coating is suitable for steel and concrete surfaces in industrial, chemical, and architectural applications.

Chemical Machinery

For steel or concrete surfaces of chemical machinery requiring protective and decorative finishing.

Industrial Pipelines

For steel pipelines requiring an outdoor protective topcoat over a compatible primer system.

Industrial Equipment

For steel or concrete equipment exposed to outdoor and industrial environments.

Building Structures

For steel and concrete surfaces of buildings requiring weather-resistant decorative protection.

Maintenance Coating Systems

For maintenance applications over compatible KGE-833X series epoxy primers or zinc-rich primers.

Q&A

Is Acrylic Coating ready to use?

Yes. It is a single-component, ready-to-use coating. The product should be thoroughly stirred before application, with the appropriate amount of KGE-S801 anti-corrosive thinner added according to the application method.

It can be used with KGE-833X series epoxy primers or zinc-rich primers as part of a compatible coating system.

Under cool, ventilated, and dry storage conditions, the product can be stored for 12 months in its original packaging.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

At 20°C, the coating is touch-dry in approximately 0.5 hour and hard-dry in approximately 24 hours.
